| The Clam Summit Thermal is the same great tent that the Clam Summit is only it's made with quilted, insutlate fabric that holds in heat better than the non-insulated version that I've been fishing in for the last 3 winters. The advantagest to the insulation is obvious that it takes less effort to heat up on a cold day. Everyone I talk to does love the insulated tents. However, insulation means added weight and bulk so the Clam Summit Thermal is a little fatter and weighs 44 lbs. so if you are going to be hand-pulling a sled for a great distance, take that into consideration. Also not that the inside of a Clam Summit THERMAL is not a blackout inside. Where the Clam Summit goes pitch black when you seal it up, the Summit Thermal lets light thru all the little ultrasonic welds that make up the quilting. If blackout isn't what you need, then, who cares? Very nice, room tent from Clam. |
