2009/10 Basecamp has grey roof but a black-out inside so it is dark. Way big enough for spearing!

Clam Basecamp - 3 to 4 man ice fishing shelter

Well here's a shocker! No, I'm not being sarcastic here. It's really a shocker! Clam improved their now famous Basecamp ice fishing pop-up! They kept the 600 denier cloth (all other brands use 300 denier) and added door flaps! OK, you're going "Door flaps - how exciting. Ho-Hum". But wait! Door flaps cut additional light, wind and sound so when you are in a screaming wind on Lake of Woods, you can hear yourself think. And, with door flaps cutting addtional zipper light shining through, you can better see that sneaky 40 pound northern as it pokes it's nose out under your ice perch with your spear ready to strike on Snowbank lake NE of Ely MN. So, there you go - that zipper flap is much more important than you thought and nobody else has one on any other pop-ups. At least I couldn't see them on any ice fishing shelter made by anybody else. Also, the best part: Clam kept the Basecamp the same as last season but for the zipper flap improvement AND THE PRICE WENT DOWN!!! NOT JUST A LITTLE, BUT A LOT! Last year we SOLD OUT of these beauties at $229.95. I thought for the heavier cloth, quality stitching, heavier poles and bigger size than other similar pop-ups, Clam's price of $229.95 was a more than fair! Apparently, so did all of our customers who snapped up every Basecamp we could get our grubby little hands on last season. And, now they are even cheaper. If that doesn't make you suck wind, I don't know what will... Quality up, price down. That's the way we like it!

Most comparable in size to the Shappell Icehouse 6000. This model and the Icehouse 6000 are about identical in size and both are bigger than the Eastman Ice Cube and the Eskimo Quick Fish 3 (which are both about the same size to each other). You could fit the Eastman Ice Cube and the Eskimo QF 3 inside of the Clam Base Camp and the Shappell Icehouse 6000.
