From the words of Dan Gapen himself, fish this vertical jig with the TINIEST diameter line you can find. Use 8 lb. spectra (Firewire Micro Ice) and light rod and reel. It drops like a rock and jig it at the level you see fish on your fish finder. The Gapen Flicker Plus has a single hook instead of the usual treble which allows it to drop fast, so you aren't waiting for it to descend as you see lakers and other large fish passing under you! Also, more and more fisherman are finding that the single hook provides a better hookset.
